   I don't know a whole lot about making transformers but the homebrewer 
in me absolutely cringes at the words "individual homebrew fellow just 
can't do it". I would think with all of the amateurs out there, someone 
would be able to come up with a somewhat reproducible system for making 
quality transformers. Heck, my "American can-do-it-attitude" almost 
makes me want to try it just to prove that statement wrong.  :-)

Or I could just be a sentimental old (really a young) fool...
