A few of the geographically disadvantaged have proposed that a 6 hour
reduction in single-op operating time during the WPX would allow them to be
competitive with the East coast. Others feel that running EU is so
important in this contest, that if you can't outrun the east coast to Europe
to start with, you're never going to beat them, no matter what time period
is used.
Let's try a simple test. The combatants should just take their latest WPX
logs and copy them to an editable file. Now remove the worst 6 hours (in
say, one or two hour chunks) and recalculate your score. Let someone
collect the scores and see if the 6 hour reduction was magic...or meaningless.
