Doug,

Following your train of thought, one could easily conclude that the ARRL is out 
to destroy the hobby by "dumbing down" the requirements for DXCC.  If that's 
the case then you would send them a strong message (and you seem to be good at 
those) by returning your DXCC/Honor Roll certificate and all the endorsements 
to the ARRL in protest of their decisions.

It's been done many times before in many other fields of endeavour.  If the 
value of your place on the Honor Roll has been so diminished by their actions 
then return it and let them know how you feel.
