Wow I guess my Un expected 2nd place in USA 9 Land from a few years ago, I may not have gotten the un expected certificate?

I was just playing around not intending to place at all then the cert was sent, wow huh?

Recording here hmmm? do any of those suggested programs work with old boat anchor rigs, and Mics that do not work with a computer?

Or would I just set up a Mic on the desk near a speaker to record the radio sounds and close enough to record my voice too?

The recording must be in a common format (e.g., mp3) and should include the audio to each ear as a separate channel. The recording may be requested by the Committee within 90 days after the log deadline to help adjudicate the log. The recording files must be provided by the entrant within 5 days of the request. If no recording is made available, the Committee may reclassify or disqualify the entry.

Does this apply to every category?

Is it ONLY for the #1 slot or does it apply to any levels below #1, Like 2nd place etc.?

Rudy,

I think a DQ is something different than having your log being reclassified as checklog. For instance, your score won't count for WRTC qualification
but your not automatically thrown out of the qualifying process.
Furthermore, you can still be picked as a teammate which is not possible if
you were DQ'ed.

The op new about the rule and choose not to follow it. IMHO, If you are
able to build and operate a category winning contest station, you should be
able to record 48 hour of your contest audio as well.

Not knowing the full details, however, it seems that the station has been
DQ'd solely due to the lack of audio recording. That is, no other rule
violation or suspected violation was mentioned. So if indeed the log
checker did not have any other concerns and the lack of recording was the
only reason, the DQ seems a bit excessive.
