Well, at least on that we agree.

Copy what was sent.  It may not be the same as the year before.

Before I shortened my old call to this one, I couldn't tell you how many
times, in Pa QSO, that someone would just assume I was still portable in
Greene County... And this for 15 years after I the first one and I divorced
and I no longer had access to her family's farm!

I also fail to understand why people get angry that what is sent doesn't
match the prefills.

People move, people operate in different categories, and yes, sometimes the
date of licensing may change due to previous years'
errors.

The best approach is to copy what is sent. Period. Nothing else is relevant.
Just what is sent.
