Of course I don't know about 'all' Orion's, but I was sent a spare unit to evaluate and it performed the same way. My Orion's didn't suffer 'nosebleed' due to any way I operate it. High speed QSK was not an option because as you know, until a firmware update, the Orion would not even key over 40 wpm..but that's pretty well fixed now and it does work 'ok' up to about 60 wpm. For the high speed stuff my Omni 6's seem to do good up to their limit. And besides Bill, how many contest have you ever heard anyone running 100 wpm ?

Best to you and your family for the holidays Bill.

>And while your doing what Bill suggest with Yaesu, also pick up >the
phone and call Ten Tec and ask them about fixing the Orion firmware
so their Titan 3 will work on the Orion's keying loop. The standard
answer you get is "Gosh, we have never heard of that problem
before...are you sure you have all three wires hooked up correct?"

Tommy, I believe there is one major difference. Wasn't
your problem unique to your application, or do all Orion -
Titan 3's eshibit the problem you had? The Yaesu 1000 family
click problem is UNIVERSAL for ALL 1000's. I'm sure you did
the right thing to get rid of your Orion since something was
apparently very different in your application than others...
maybe it suffered nosebleed with your 100+ WPM QSK.

Thanks for the info about the 600 Hz versus 400 Hz filter
for Omni...apparently George has not updated the paper on his
website. I was hoping the 400 Hz filter was correct thinking
it might also be a possibility for Orion.
