I've had my O-II for about a year now, and operate both SSB and CW. My only
gripe was on SSB, and a recent post here solved that one. The default
setting of the AGC Hang value (0.0s) for slow and med AGC makes for a real
harsh sounding SSB, even with strong signals. Some suggested changing this
to 0.30s and that made SSB sound as good on the O-II as it does on my old
Icom IC751A.
Other that that, I've had absolutely no problems. Best rig I have ever
owned, hands down. None of the current 'bugs' affect my operating. YMMV
