I can't speak for the Orion II, but I can tell you that I have had
excellent results using the MFJ 1026 with my original Orion. I would
easily credit it with improving my score by 10 per cent in the annual CQ
160 Meter SSB contest. Since I am partial to Ten Tec products, I would
also like to see them involved in this technology.

tuned, you usually don't have to retune much.
So you may lose a QSO or two, but afterwards you can operate.
I have never used the MFJ so I cannot comment on it.
I can only say that I rarely saw my two units because the boys here in
the Bavarian Contest Club were always loaning them out for contest
expeditions.
