I would never suggest DC power distribution...I was thinking along the lines of
a conversion at the home panel to low voltage DC for use with more simply
designed LED lighting. I don't have first hand knowledge because I haven't
been willing to make the leap, but have been told the power supplies built into
the rear section of the LED replacement bulbs get very hot. They do have the
appearance of a heat sink. Just thinking if that could be eliminated it would
probably increase efficiency....of course all it might do is move the heat load
to the garage...
