Hi Ken/Josh

Thanks for the input, you are right i was using my Fluke dmm, i will check with my scope later tonight.

Have cleaned a great many number of connectors ( Molex?) with Detoxit, will being doing the pots and band/mode switches at the same time.

Thanks for your input

Snowy

What kind of Fluke meter are you using? Are you expecting to measure RF
voltage with it? If a regular Fluke DMM you can reasonably expect to
measure DC collector voltages and DC base bias voltages, but it is not
really the right instrument to measure RF drive voltage. You'd be better
off trying to make those measurements with an oscilloscope, preferably with
a 10X probe so the circuit loading is around 10 Megohms and only a few
picofarads. Or you could use a HF AC VTVM or FET VM that has the rectifier
built into the probe.

Hi all
Some progress on the above radio, voltages are very close to what the
manual states, but still no TX.
What should i see from the mixer board RF connector, i dont appear to
see output drive on my Fluke meter feeding the RF amp?.
Found a leaky cap on the control board, all changed for the next range
higher working and 105 degree working types.
Also found a mini relay 'hot melt glued' to a board, this had 2 x TX
voltages wires (yellow) attached, or should have been, the soldering had
not been done and the wires had broken free from the pins on the relay,
the control wire was also soldered to the TX line, so cant see what it
was supposed to do, i removed it and re-instated the wires correctly,
unfortunately that didn't help the lack of TX.
thanks to all for comments so far, keep them coming please.
thanks
