Ladies and Gentlemen,

Those having MMTTY plug-in problems, please make sure that
there are no other sound applications running. Also check to make
sure you have "No Sounds" set under Schemes and the silence.wav
set as the default sound. This is all described in WriteLog help.

It could be possible that your computer wants to send a beep or
some other sound and tries to access your sound card, freezing it.
I can't duplicate the problem but it makes sense. To make sure that
"No Sounds" is set:

Go to the Windows Control Panel.

Double click on the Sounds icon.

Under schemes, choose "No Sounds" from the pull down list.

In the Events: window, highlight Default sound by clicking on it
once with the mouse.

In the Name box, browse to the C:\ham\programs and you will see
a file called silence.wav. Double click on silence.wav and it will
become the default Windows sound. This is more important when
using the soundcard for SSB, but also might create problems within
the MMTTY plug-in.

Please report to me if this fixes your freezing up problems.

Something else you might try is to run MMTTY stand-alone. If
you have these same problems, then it's probably something with
MMTTY and your hardware and nothing to do with the Plug-in or
WriteLog.

I understand that many are having problems and I read each post
trying to figure out what could be happening. But since I didn't write
MMTTY, WriteLog or the Plug-in, I'm just a user like you. My
only interest in all this is to try to help others get this MMTTY thing
working.

If any of you come up with a "fix" to your MMTTY Plug-in problem,
please let me know so I can put the "fix" in the troubleshooting guide
of the website.

I will try to help anyone that has MMTTY problems but everyone must
understand I may not have the answers to your problems.

Thanks & GL
Don AA5AU
