I hate to say it, but property values can be affected:
One day, my next-door neighbor (who built about 4 years after I did)
and I were chatting. He told me that he used my tower as a way to
negotiate a better price for his lot. He thanked me!
On the other hand:
On the north side of my property, a ~10 house development was built
about 5 years ago, with a great view of my tower, as this was all ex-
farmland with no trees. These houses went for $600-800K and sold
quickly. This small development is deed-restricted for outdoor antennas
(there's an inactive ham in one of them who put up a multi-band vertical
behind a tree), though they don't have seem to have a problem with
those DirectTV dishes.
