As a Groups.io list owner SteppIR  and others.  There can be as much moderation as necessary and what is nice when a topic is closed for discussion it can actually be close and BS post that have nothing to do with the list can be easily removed, making it far easier to search for relevant information.

I am unsure if there is a way to bring over the archives.  K5TR is very competent and if he agrees I am sure that he can help with the process.

Groups.io groups also allow people to view using only the web and many people really like that option.

There are no real negatives other than a temporary upsetting of things.

Steve, if you need or want additional help I am happy to help.

Email is great as it allows well thought out and reasoned messages on asubject.
I can reply when I want and it's direct.  A forum is subject tocensorship and pettiness which
is all to common in amateur radio today. Mywords can be changed and edited by anyone with database
access.
Excuse my ignorance but I don't see the distinction between the two. The
Mailman lists like this one all have administrators that can moderate the list which
means that some stuff doesn't get posted (censored) based on their particular agenda. The
contesting reflector is moderated while TT is not.

It sounds like there are some minor (?) problems with groups.io but IMO
the benefits far outweigh the problems.

PS - Someone mentioned no ads on groups.io. While there aren't any commercial
"ads" on TT, I don't discourage anyone from posting about some offer that may
be of interest to TT'ers. After all, over half of what's discussed has to do with buying
something.
