I think the majority of them run just fine. That is one problem with the
internet. If someone has a problem with their rig, they repeated post it
for all to see. Those who don't have any problems rarely make postings about
it, because they figure there is no reason to do so.
I know that the 746PRO had a problem with an IC dying in early models.
Haven't really heard of any problems with the 746 original. I had one for a
couple of years and it was a pretty good rig. I think some of the 756
originals had problems with getting blue lines on the screen, but the screen
didn't totally die, and the blue lines, while maybe an eyesore to some,
didn't render the rig nor the display useless. I had a 756 for a few months
and really liked it. It is a quality DXing rig at a very decent price,
given it is probably the lowest priced rig on the used market that does dual
receive. You can also cascade either CW or SSB filters at the 2nd and 3rd
IF. If I had the money available I would get another in a heartbeat.
