Have you really thought this through, and does your gear even support this
style of operation?
The reason I ask is that dual receive becomes an absolute must, and a lot
of older and low end gear does not offer this capability. When I was
shopping for new gear, dual receive was a "must have" for me. I also found
a lot of gear that does not do this.
Problem 2 is hearing the DX. I can hear him/her fine because their TX QRG
is (relatively) clear. Due to good timing, good luck, good TX QRG -
whatever - he happened to pick my call out of the din. Now the problem
becomes - *I* need to hear him. Many strong signals close by/on the same
frequency, and I need to pick out a weak signal out of that, and hope to
have a good contact. Again, high end gear helps, but there are limits to
what it can do. Low end/older gear? Good luck with that!
Problem 3 is we have been doing things this way for as long as I have been
a ham. Learning this "new" way is not going to be easy.
Add it all up, and it seems like a non-starter to me...
