That thought crossed my mind more than once during the
WPX CW contest. The problem is that everyone seems
to have tight filters, so keeping a run frequency clear enough
for picking out weak ones with 500 Hz filters is sometimes
easier said than done. Having adjacent CQers no closer than
+/- 500 Hz seemed to produce decent results.
