Hi Tony, certainly.
The results I reported before swapping the PRISM II card out of the PtMP
side were in this environment:
AP->1000, two cards slotted, one Orinoco Gold card (backhaul), one PRISM II
card (PtMP) running TC in both slots, PtMP in Base Station mode. The PtMP
setup is 1' pigtail, into lightning arrestor, then 20' of LMR-400 into a
90*, 15dB gain Superpass sector located some 25' AGL, and the WPOP at 4800'
AMSL. The "client" side was a laptop, Orinoco card, WinXP Home running TC
driver for XP, 4' pigtail into a 24dB PacWireless grid parabolic, all
vertical polarization. The antenna was mounted on a surplus camera tripod
about 1.5' AGL, and a typical site was right around 1200' AMSL at a distance
of 7.6miles. Excellent LOS.
The results were:
Laptop AP
SNR 21dB 2dB
Signal -80dBm -101dBm
Noise -98dBm -102dBm
As you can see, the recieved signal at the laptop was good, but still didn't
meet specs...should have been -67.684 dBm according to Ecommwireless SOM
page. Either the sector was not aligned correctly (it has a vertical -3dB
beamwidth of 8*) or there's something askew in the connectors, antenna,
coax, etc.
Norm
