FWIW, I just worked 6O0CW on 30m CW followed by 17m RTTY within a few minutes 
of each other.  Using a ZS6BKW (a G5RV variant) and a solid state amp that 
rarely outputs more than about 400 watts into that antenna.  Same part of the 
world as Yemen from NY.

Have you checked 20m at 1:00am?

20m is often quite open that late between the vernal and autmunal equinoxes.
