Barry,

Somewhat similar issues with the K3 when using the SDR-IQ. Other SDRs here can
see much more detail at the baseline level when compared with the K3/SDR-IQ --
even after using a Clifton Labs buffer amp and the K3 JFET mod. The new K3s
may be better; I saw a bullet-point in Elecraft's literature that mentioned an
improvement over the K3 IF output design.

Like PowerSDR, Expert Electronics' ExpertSDR2 software is significantly more
advanced at this time than Flex's SSDR. It's also very stable. I've never had
a software release crash on me. CW with the SunSDR2 is very good and
reasonably fast, but uses a mechanical relay for T/R switching. At the 15-20W
power level, there's no reason NOT to use PIN diode switching if ample reverse
bias voltage protection is used on Rx diodes. Like the ANAN series, adaptive
pre-distortion is part of the hardware design, but not yet implemented in the
controlling software.

I found the RX366 IF output resulted in a poor panadapter trace and posted that
to this reflector and tentecwiki.org - use the VE7TK mod with Clifton Labs
buffer amp. I suspect the Eagle IF output is no better than the RX366 and also
really needs the mod, since it's essentially the same receiver.

I just plugged it into my motherboard soundcard, a RealTek HD or something like
that. It works fine, as do the soundcards recommended on telepostinc.com
