Hi Rick,
I would have to ask WHO you bought them from? I have bought guy grips, too,
directly from PLP, and never got either tie wraps OR end sleeves with them.
Could it be that the seller (not PLP) put the tie wraps in with the grips
you bought?
We are probably splitting hairs here, again, but the definition of who the
"manufacturer" is in these situations is cloudy. Rohn only makes SOME of
the parts of the towers they sell. They probably don't make the bolts and
nuts for example, nor the EHS cable they sell and recommend, but we still
listen to their advice on the applications of those items. The important
point is whether or not to use end sleeves on your guy grips and I doubt if
your tower will fall down by itself if you don't use them or tie wraps.
Only you can know how creative your local vandals may be . . .
I have not bothered to really notice how often the power companies use end
sleeves, if ever, on the millions of guy grips they use. I will make it a
point to notice . . . just for my own information.
