Not so. Capacitors arc at the peak voltage, not the RMS, and with 1500
watts into 1:1 SWR at 50 ohms the peak is approximately 390 volts. Mix
in a high SWR and you are asking for trouble. IMO a load cap for a 1500
watt amp should be rated at least 1000 volts and even that is a little
iffy. What he has looks like an ordinary broadcast band cap.
