Here is a picture that shows the bandswitch contacts:

The fixed contacts are about 3/8" in diameter. The rotor is made of
several leaves, and makes contact across the whole width of the fixed
contacts. There is plenty of room between the contacts. The insulation
is glazed ceramic. In my opinion, this bandswitch is much more serious
than the one whose burned contacts I replaced in an Alpha 86, and way
better than the ones you find in Ameritron amps.
What exactly is wrong with it?
