I thought the objection to the octopi was that the M/S stations in question
were CQing twice on the same band, once at the bottom and once at the top.

Dan was rapidly switching between two pileups on two different bands. He
was essentially running an interlocked M/2 by himself, without packet,
which is remarkable.
