Yes, but with a knife switch one can't operate and be protected at the same time. With the spark plug arrestor operation continues with protection. The knife switch is best when one is away from the station. That presumes one does not forget to close it when securing the station. Also, the knife switch should be located outside of the structure for added safety.

One can use all sorts of spark plugs & things to drain off those little
sparkies mother nature puts out, however its hard to beat a DPDT heavy knife
switch.
For over 25 years I had a 3 wire Rhombic up 375 ft on a leg and with 4500
feet of wire basically in the form of a capacitor you can have your own
fireworks display.  Go with a knife switch.
