I agree, they did have some issues there too. It’s never a bad idea, once you 
have the radio open, to a least unplug and replay those two connectors. I’d 
want to be very careful doing it 20 times as they are sort of fragile.

What led me to believe that the main PLL is inoperative now is that his 
original problem was obviously arising in the main PLL. Now the radio return 
and wrks on the secondary PLL but neither RX nor TX, which both use the primary 
PLL, are non-functional. This suggests to me that the tech reached the end of 
the road in his troubleshooting and, declaring that the radio was junk, 
unrepairable, saw no reason to return it to its previous status of being 
“partially operational”.

I can’t prove it because I can’t see the radio but the offer to test the 
synthesizer in a working Orion still stands.
