SIDC URSIGRAM 50124
SIDC SOLAR BULLETIN 24 Jan 2005, 1234UT
SIDC FORECAST (valid from 1230UT, 24 Jan 2005 until 26 Jan 2005)
SOLAR FLARES : Eruptive (C-class flares expected, probability >= 50%)
GEOMAGNETISM : Quiet (A<20 and K<4)
SOLAR PROTONS : Quiet
PREDICTIONS FOR 24 Jan 2005 10CM FLUX: 090 / AP: 011
PREDICTIONS FOR 25 Jan 2005 10CM FLUX: 086 / AP: 011
PREDICTIONS FOR 26 Jan 2005 10CM FLUX: 083 / AP: 008

COMMENT: The solar and geomagnetic activities are finally returning to
low levels. Only an occasional C flare may be produced by one of the
small active regions now on the Sun. The X-ray background has now
dropped below the B1 level. The solar wind speed remains elevated, but
it decreases steadily, and is now approaching 550km/s. As Bz remains
small around 0, the geomagnetic field is expected to remain mostly quiet
to unsettled over the coming 3-day period, though brief active
conditions may occur at high latitudes in the next 24h. After a long
decay phase, the proton flux in all energy bands is now returning to
normal background levels.
