Both groups have remained quiet over the past 24 hours, only producing small B-flares. Still, the groups are capable of larger flares and we see a significant chance for C-flares in the following 24 hours. Another active region is visible at the east limb in EIT images, and will soon rotate on the disk. This region was probably the source of a CME on Jan 07, so it seems active. Geomagnetic conditions were very quiet due to a strong northwards orientation of the IMF. We expect mostly quiet conditions, although some geomagnetic perturbations may be caused by a small coronal hole in the southern solar hemisphere (which was near the central meridian on Jan 07).
